What EMA Offers

Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) is a democratically owned group of career emergency physicians.  Most of EMA physicians are board certified or board prepared in Emergency Medicine and share the same commitment to providing unparalelled Emergency Medicine.  At present, EMA is home to more than 250 physicians.  We have contracts with eighteen major hospital Emergency Departments in New Jersey and New York.  EMA offers a wide variety of practice opportunities ranging from community hospitals to trauma centers and teaching institutions.  EMA provides a stimulating professional environment, professional independence, and financial security.

The manner in which EMA compensates our physicians and relates to our physician partners is embodied in a comprehensive employment agreement that can only be altered by two-thirds of the voting interest of the Partnership.

As EMA has grown to eighteen hospitals, we have created a number of affiliated organizations to better serve our physicians and hospital partners:

• Emergency Medical Associates Research Foundation, a 501C non-profit reserach foundation, cooperates with the Emergency Medicine residency program and the other EMA affiliates in order to assist, promote, and coordinate Emergency Medicine seminars in research.
• EMO Medical Care, L.L.C. manages two acute/primary care centers in central and northern New Jersey and several hospitalist programs (adult and pediatric).
• Emergency Medical Consultants, LLC, provides house physician coverage.
• Alpha Physician Resources, our managment services affiliate, provides personal side-by-side assistants and a dedicated computerized infrastructure to support your day-to-day practice.
• Bravo Reimbursement Services, provides emergency physician coding, billing, and collection services.
