Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) has been at the forefront in utilizing physician associates in New Jersey. After legislation was passed and signed into law in 1992 licensing Physician Assistants, EMA immediately moved ahead with the hiring of PAs and NPs for positions in its busy emergency departments.
