Mountainside Hospital Holds Teddy Bear Clinic

Alexander Ostrow, M.D., F.A.C.E.P., ED physician at Mountainside Hospital is seen casting a teddybear of one of the attendees.

 

Nancy Cozzini, M.D., a pediatric physician at Mountainside Hospital's Emergency Department, is seen suturing one of the participant's teddybears.

Mountainside Hospital-Montclair, NJ:  Mountainside Hospital held a Teddy Bear Clinic on Saturday, April 12, 2003.  This event featured hospital representatives from the Departments of Radiology, Respiratory, Emergency Medicine and Laboratory.
Children were provided with hands-on education as to what to expect when visiting the ED for treatment and each child was provided with a plush animal, courtesy of Russ Berrie, Inc.

Said Mary Nora Caldo, RN, BS, Community Educator, “ The Teddy Bear Clinic was a great success.  The staff did an excellent job which was evidenced by the number of smiles of the children’s faces.  We look forward to continuing this program in the future.”
