2008 TEPR Conference-Fort. Dr. Fontanetta presented on the topic of how an emergency department-specific electronic medical record, with the critical key feature of “charge-capture,” allows today’s emergency departments to implement an ED-specific EMR that reduces risk, enhances clinical and operational “best practices,” and, in today’s economically challenged hospital environments, pay for itself.
