John Allegra, MD, FACEP, Ph.D. Receives The Roberta Chiaviello Ferguson Memorial Humanitarian AwardDate: October 12, 2004John Allegra, MD, FACEP, Ph.D. Receives The Roberta Chiaviello Ferguson Memorial Humanitarian Award for Providing Medical Treatment to the Poor and Underserved Emergency Medical Associates (EMA)-Livingston, NJ-John Allegra, MD, Ph.D., attending Emergency Department physician at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ, and long-term partner in Emergency Medical Associates (EMA), recently received the Roberta Chiaviello Ferguson Memorial Humanitarian Award. On September 12, 2004, Dr. Allegra was presented with the Roberta Chiaviello Ferguson Memorial Humanitarian Award, which recognizes those individuals who have made significant social commitments to the underserved. Dr. Allegra was recognized for the many years he has dedicated in providing medical treatment to the poor at the Hogar Del Nino Medical Clinic and other small villages in Honduras, the Hospital Albert Schweitzer in Haiti, SSM Bridges in the Dominican Republic, St. Jude Mission Hospital in the West Indies, Missionaries of Charity clinics in Calcutta & India and the Gordon Memorial Mission Hospital in Malawi, Africa. In addition to being a well-recognized leader in the field of Emergency Medicine research, Dr. Allegra is internationally recognized for his research in the field of physics.
