Emergency Medical Associate Physician Presents on the Efficacy of the European EMS System at Internal Emergency Medicine CongressDate: November 12, 2003Emergency Medical Associates (EMA), Livingston, NJ – Joseph Dib, MD, FACEP, an attending Emergency Department physician at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ, recently completed an oral presentation on the topic of “The Efficacy of the European EMS System from a Clinical and Financial Perspective” at the 2003 Mediterranean Congress on Emergency Medicine, which was held in Sitges/Barcelona, Spain from September 13- 17, 2003. Dr. Dib, who has extensive experience in the field of Emergency Medicine research, worked with both the Dutch College of Emergency Medicine and the Director of Emergency Medical Services for the City of Amsterdam on a month-long research project. During the course of his research, Dr. Dib worked with both Administration and field personnel, which included attending numerous ambulance calls. According to Dr. Dib, “ The EMS system in Amsterdam is very advanced. My research found that their paramedic nurses and medics receive extensive training which resulted in significant advantages with respect to EMS triage, transport, and treat and release.”
