State and National Leadership Participation

Hospital Administrators appreciate that the EMA physicians who work in their Emergency Departments are also leaders in state and national professional societies and are active at the state and national levels of government.

They work closely with the New Jersey and New York EMS communities and Departments of Health.  EMA physicians hold leadership and educational positions within the American College of Emergency Physicians, State ACEP Chapters, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.

Hospitals are confident that EMA physicians are always looking for ways to improve the health care delivery system.  EMA physicians have taken a leadership role in reimbursement issues-  Medicaid programs for children and the national restructuring of Medicare fees for Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services are two recent examples.

EMA physicians are active on a national and regional front with respect to the use of electronic medical records (EMR) in the Emergency Department, and the role of Emergency Department Business Intelligence with regards to clinical and operational analysis of the ED.

Hospitals appreciate EMA’s willingness to get involved with the medical staff and forging necessary relationships.  This establishes a basis for seamless delivery of care for their patients.  Furthermore, EMA Physicians choose to join committees, run for office of the medical staff, and sit on the board of trustees for the foundation and hospital. Hospitals know EMA physicians have a personal commitment to their hospital’s future and view themselves as long term partners.
