Physician LeadershipEMA realizes that the Medical Director plays an extremely important role in an EMA Emergency Department (ED) since client support, quality of care, contract stability, financial performance, and physician communications all depend on effective physician leadership. EMA offers an ED Medical Director Academy program to provide future and present Medical Directors with the skills and resources necessary to manage physicians and become effective team leaders within the Emergency Department. Our physician leaders attend to the myriad of administrative duties incumbent on an ED Medical Director, and deploy many state-of-the-art practice management services designed to support our contract sites and their specific strategic goals. EMA believes that ED Medical Directors need to deliver high quality service to all ED customers, need to continually strive to improve clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction, and need to proactively develop operational systems for the cost effective delivery of care. EMA physician leaders have served as Medical Staff Officers as well as Trustees at their client hospitals.
